U4GM Guide to Obducite Farming with Horadric Strongrooms
Once you hit the stage where Masterworking matters, you realise the grind isn't really about finding loot anymore—it's about feeding the upgrade machine. Obducite is the choke point, and it runs out fast, especially when you're chasing that one "just right" roll. If you're already sorting through Diablo 4 Items and planning your next upgrades, it helps to know there's a farm that feels way less like running on a treadmill than spamming Pit tiers for hours. Why Horadric Strongrooms are the real Obducite shortcut A lot of players don't even notice this, because they're busy scrapping sigils the second they look annoying. But there's a Nightmare Dungeon affix called Horadric Strongroom, and it's basically a direct line to chunky Obducite payouts. The catch is you've got to "fish" for it. Go to the Occultist in a big town and craft a handful of Nightmare Sigils. Then slow down and read them. Don't auto-salvage on habit. If the dungeon text shows Horadric Strongroom, keep it, even if the rest of the modifiers aren't your favourite. How to run it without wasting time Once you activate the sigil and zone in, forget the usual full-clear mindset. You're not there for the final boss, you're not there to open every last side door, and you're definitely not there to chase that one archer stuck behind a wall. Your job is simple: find the Horadric Gate. It can show up off the main route or tucked into a side pocket, so keep moving and check branches quickly. When you find it, you'll get a short fight sequence—waves of enemies, nothing fancy. Clear them, and a Horadric Portal pops that takes you into the Strongroom event. What you actually get and how to keep it consistent The Strongroom itself is tight and messy in the best way: small room, lots of enemies, fast kills. After you finish the event, you'll get a Grand Horadric Cache (or a final chest) that drops a big lump of Obducite. With a clean build and no downtime, it's normal to see around 900 per run, which is wild compared to the slow drip you feel when you're climbing Pit tiers. If you want consistency, run a build with strong movement and quick AoE so you're not stuck kiting in a cramped space. Keeping your upgrades moving between farming sessions Even with this method, you'll still have nights where the sigil RNG won't cooperate, or you're short on other mats, or you just don't feel like crafting another stack. That's where planning helps—bank Obducite when you're on a streak, then Masterwork in batches so you don't burn it the moment you get it. And if you're trying to smooth out the whole gearing process—whether that's currency, materials, or gearing alts—some players also use U4GM to save time and keep their builds moving instead of stalling out mid-upgrade.
